Welcome to the Catholic Chaplaincy

A very warm welcome to the Catholic Chaplaincy at UEA.
In the very first conversation of Jesus recorded in the Gospel of John, some disciples ask Him a question: ‘Rabbi, where are you staying?’
Jesus says to them, ‘Come and see!’
If you are a student, a member of staff, an alumnus, someone thinking of studying at UEA, or visiting our website for any other reason, these words of Jesus are also addressed to you, in person: ‘Come and see!’
The Catholic Chaplaincy has a full time Chaplain, Rev Andrew Eburne, and a priest Chaplain Fr Padràig Hawkins, who celebrates Mass on Sundays and Wednesdays, and is always available for Confession.  The Chaplaincy is a community founded on and nourished by the Sacraments!  This is where we come closest to Jesus, who invites us to discover Him.
Deacon Andrew is the only full time Chaplain at UEA, and is available every day of the week during term time except for Saturdays.  Click Chaplains and Mass Times for more details.
We have a great variety of activities and prayer groups: click on What’s On for more details, and make sure you pick up a copy of our Term Card next time you come in.
You can find the Chaplains in the Multifaith Centre, right at the heart of the campus. If you want to be sure of meeting one of the Chaplains, come to Mass!  The Multifaith Centre provides a vibrant space for all members of the University community.  You can come here to pray and to worship; but also to relax, to meet people, make tea or coffee, have lunch, or spend time in quiet meditation.
The Catholic chaplains are part of the UEA Mulitifaith Chaplaincy team, which is there for all UEA students and staff of any or of no faith.
Come and see!
